Mind Full or Mindful?

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM:

Set your mind at ease and regain control.
This 4-week program strives to teach participants how to manage the stress of daily life through mindful awareness. You will learn about the negative impact of stress on the mind and body and through mindful practice, become more aware of your thoughts, feelings and body sensations. Aimed at ages 20+.

CBT for Anxiety Group

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy group for anxiety.
Learn how to “manage your symptoms” rather than “your symptoms managing you.”

When it’s offered:

This group is currently in progress.

Next group will run from Jan 8, 2018 – March 12, 2018.

How to get involved:

You can access our mental health programs by speaking to your Family Doctor or one of the support staff that works in the Family Health Team.

Our social workers and mental health counsellors are trained to counsel people who are experiencing challenges in daily living.

Mental Health Assessments

A psychiatrist comes to our main St. Catharines site two days a week to assess patients with complex mental or emotional problems.

We also have a psychiatrist at our main Virgil site one day a week.

CBT-I (Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia)

What the CBT-I Program has to offer:

This program addresses sleep-related difficulties for those who have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep and/or frequent waking during the night. (Not appropriate for patients with untreated sleep apnea or serious medical conditions affecting sleep).

The goal is to help you achieve better sleep, feel more rested and energized in your day-to-day life.

When it’s offered:

This 8 week program is 4 weeks of in-class and 4 weeks of telephone consultation.

Next classes: Tuesday October 10th – Tuesday November 28 from 1:30pm – 3:00PM.

Anxiety Group (CBT Skills)

Our CBT group is run by our Mental Health Team.

If you are struggling with your mood, such as anxiety, depression, stress, or trouble managing your day to day life, please join us for 4 sessions of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Skills.

This is not a therapy group. CBT teaches skills to help you better manage your thoughts and feelings. These changes can improve the way you feel and help you cope.

This program is for you if:

  • You feel overwhelmed with negative thinking
  • You would like to learn strategies to better manage anxiety
  • You would like to learn how to think positively

What the CBT Program has to offer:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT is a structured therapy aimed at giving people the tools to solve their problems, reducing their level of anxiety. It is aimed at changing negative thinking patterns which affect behaviours. This group is 8 consecutive sessions.

When it’s offered:

Group that meets weekly or monthly vs in office appointments with a specific practitioner. 4 sessions that can change your world.
