Taking Care of you; Self Care for the Caregiver
Tuesday September 11, 2018 – NOTL Community Centre (Mori Room)
In this interactive workshop participants will have an opportunity to discuss as a group strategies for self-care. We will discuss the effects of caregiving, tips and strategies to ensure caregivers are taking time for self-care including sleep, nutrition and exercise.
This workshop also covers how to identify barriers to self-care, ways to manage stress and how to keep a well-balanced “Wellness Wheel” (emotionally, physically, spiritually
Participants will receive hand outs and be encouraged to write ideas and do self-reflection.
BIO: Denise Verreault began her tenure with the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region five years ago as a Francophone Family Support counselor. She is currently the Director of Education for the Society, and brings forth over 18 years of experience of both professional and personal experience working with and for persons living with cognitive changes and their care partners.
